Here are some frequently asked questions! Let us know if you have any others.
- What if I don’t have any upper-body strength?
Most new students DON’T have a lot of upper-body strength, but they do find that that they do get stronger the more they pole. The spins that we do in the pole 1/2 classes are a great way to develop both upper-body and core strength!
- What should I wear?
Come dressed to workout in your leggings or yoga pants. It’s a good idea to bring shorts or have them underneath your leggings in case you need to grip the pole with your legs at some point in the lesson. We often end up on the floor for floor work, so knee pads or leg warms can also be a good idea. - What about lotion/jewelry/shoes?
Please do NOT apply lotion on the day you intend to come to pole class; it will make it harder for you to grip the pole.
Please leave jewelry that could possibly come into contact with the pole at home or in your bag so neither it, nor our poles, get damaged.
Shoes are fine! You are welcome to bring heels; please be sure they have an ankle strap and non-marking soles. - What is your late policy?
We ask that students arrive on time as the first part of class includes a warm-up. This is IMPORTANT. Students who are slightly late and are used to warming up may grab a mat and warm up in the office area. Instructors have the discretion to not allow late arrivals. - Can I rent the studio?
We do not allow private rental of the studio. - Can I come with a friend?
Absolutely – pole is a really fun activity to share with your friends! If there will be more than three in your group, please contact us to ask if there is room as classes do fill up. You will likely be asked to look into booking a private event so that we may cater more specifically to your group. - I have ballet/gymnastics/yoga/silks/dance experience. Can I come to a more advanced class?
Admittance to intermediate and advanced classes are at the discretion of the instructor. If you feel that one of these classes is right for you, please contact us so that we may better evaluation your personal experience. - Will I have to share a pole?
Most likely! Our classes can be very popular! We are a pretty friendly crew though, so it’s a good thing. 🙂 If you’d prefer to not share a pole, you can always contact us about scheduling a private. - Do you do bachelorette and birthday parties?
We sure do! Check our our party page for all the details. - Do you allow men?
Yes, we believe that pole is for everyone.
